Hurray for a book that makes special-needs parenting sound like something you can survive, even thrive with! Informed by a survey of over 500 moms who shared their worries, joys, tips and tricks...

More Than A Mom: Living a Full And Balanced Life When Your Child Has Special Needs
Almost a decade ago, we browsed together at an autism conference book display table and couldn’t find what we really needed. While we saw collections of parents’ essays and “how-to-parent-your-disabled child” books, we couldn’t find one that tackled the turmoil in our own lives.

Sure our kids brought us joy--but also worry and exhaustion. Sometimes parenting seemed all consuming--with the countless phone calls, therapies, meetings and advocacy. We wondered what happened to the other important parts of our lives. Would our marriages stay strong? Could we be good parents to our other kids and keep friendships alive? Would we ever get our careers back? How could we stay sane, healthy and strong? How could we do the best for our kids, without losing sight of our own needs and dreams?
We wrote More Than A Mom: Living a Full and Balanced Life to answer those questions. After hearing from over 500 moms of kids with all kinds of special needs, we were inspired. With compromises, creativity, and determination, women find ways to create a life that works for them and for their families.
